Esta construcci\u00f3n tiene una rica historia y una importancia en la administraci\u00f3n local de la \u00e9poca.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/app.siketing.com\/valdeltormo\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2023\/11\/Ayuntamiento-Antiguo.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/app.siketing.com\/valdeltormo\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/25\/2023\/11\/Ayuntamiento-Antiguo.jpg\" alt=\"\" style=\"width:600px\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El edificio se termin\u00f3 de construir en 1584, pero en su origen se utilizaba como la casa de la Cofrad\u00eda de Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de la Asunci\u00f3n. La Cofrad\u00eda era el \u00f3rgano encargado de la administraci\u00f3n local de la poblaci\u00f3n, incluyendo asuntos tanto civiles como religiosos, ya que en ese per\u00edodo Valdeltormo estaba bajo los dominios de la Encomienda de Calatrava de Alca\u00f1iz. No ser\u00e1 hasta 1629, gracias al reconocimiento  del rey Felipe IV, cuando pase de considerarse una aldea dependiente de Alcaniz, a una poblaci\u00f3n completamente independiente con jurisprudencia propia, y por lo tanto, con su propio ayuntamiento. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<details class=\"wp-block-details is-layout-flow wp-block-details-is-layout-flow\"><summary>Sigue leyendo<\/summary>\n<p>La Cofrad\u00eda de Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de la Asunci\u00f3n se encargaba de la organizaci\u00f3n de una asamblea general anual de todos los vecinos, donde se trataban asuntos importantes de la comunidad. Durante esta asamblea, se celebraba una comida colectiva, se revisaban las cuentas de ingresos, gastos y bienes de la hermandad, se eleg\u00edan los representantes del gobierno municipal a trav\u00e9s de votaci\u00f3n (como el prior, dos mayorales y los oficiales auxiliares), y se tomaban decisiones sobre la administraci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El edificio del Antiguo Ayuntamiento refleja la arquitectura civil renacentista y es un excelente ejemplo de la estrecha relaci\u00f3n entre la est\u00e9tica y la funcionalidad en esa \u00e9poca. Contaba con espacios espec\u00edficos como la lonja, la prisi\u00f3n, los trujales para guardar los tributos en especie y oficinas para las funciones administrativas.
